Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 13, 2026
This policy describes how FightIQ (https://www.fightiq.dev) collects and uses information when you use our website and related services.
Who we are
FightIQ provides UFC and MMA fight-card picks, expert consensus, and community pick tracking. For privacy questions, contact us at contact@nextwavesystems.co.
Information we collect
- Account information — If you create an account, we store your email, username, and authentication credentials through our auth provider (Supabase).
- Picks and usage — Fight picks you save, profile settings, and related activity needed to run the service.
- Technical data — Standard server and security logs (for example IP address, browser type, and request timestamps) may be processed by our hosting and database providers when you use the site.
Cookies and similar storage
We use browser storage for the following purposes:
- Essential storage — Supabase authentication tokens in local storage (or equivalent session storage) so you can remain signed in; short-lived session storage for UI preferences such as your display name cache.
- Consent preference — A local storage entry recording whether you dismissed the cookie notice and which option you chose.
- Optional analytics (consent only)— If you choose "Accept" on the cookie banner, Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) to measure how the site is used, and Microsoft Clarity records anonymized session interactions (clicks, scrolling, navigation) with on-screen text masked. Choosing "Essential only" keeps both switched off.
Separately, our hosting provider (Vercel) collects cookieless, aggregated traffic and performance metrics (page views, referrers, Core Web Vitals). This involves no cookies, no cross-site tracking, and no individual profiles.
We do not use advertising cookies or social-media pixels, and we have configured our analytics so advertising-related data sharing stays disabled.
Third-party services
- Supabase — Authentication, database, and API hosting. Their privacy practices apply to data they process on our behalf.
- Vercel — Website hosting, plus cookieless aggregate analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) and real-user performance monitoring (Speed Insights).
- Google Analytics — Usage measurement, loaded only after you accept analytics on the cookie banner. Google may process your IP address and technical metadata; we keep advertising features and data sharing disabled.
- Microsoft Clarity — Session replay and heatmaps to find usability problems, loaded only after you accept analytics on the cookie banner. On-screen text is masked in recordings.
- Google Fonts — Typography files may be loaded from Google servers; Google may receive your IP address and technical metadata. You can limit this with browser extensions or network controls.
How we use information
We use collected information to:
- Provide, secure, and improve the service;
- Authenticate users and store picks;
- Respond to support requests and enforce our terms;
- Comply with legal obligations.
Legal bases (EEA / UK)
Where applicable, we rely on:
- Contract — Processing needed to provide the service you request;
- Legitimate interests — Security, fraud prevention, cookieless aggregate measurement (Vercel), and service improvement, balanced against your rights;
- Consent— Optional analytics cookies and session recordings (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity), used only if you accept them on the cookie banner. You can withdraw consent at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the site footer.
Retention
We keep account and pick data while your account is active or as needed to operate the service. You may request deletion of your account data subject to legal retention requirements.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object or withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the site footer. For anything else, email contact@nextwavesystems.co.
Children
FightIQ is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Material changes may be highlighted on the site.
